What We Care For

HIV / AIDS

The most dangerous sexually transmitted disease is caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). HIV attacks the very defenses of the body (immune system) that help us fight diseases, so this system does not work well because of HIV.

In the first years there are usually no symptoms of the infection and that is why it is not possible to know if your partner has HIV unless he / she has had an HIV blood test. There are also many people with HIV who look healthy but can transmit (pass) HIV to someone else.

If medicines are not taken to treat HIV, HIV can reach AIDS and may even end in death. But before reaching that point, it is good to know that today there are good HIV treatment in Delhi available.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

The HPV (human papilloma virus) are actually a set of virus common (there are over 100 types), and although most are harmless, about 30 types are associated with an increased risk of cancer.

According to the WHO, these types of viruses are classified as low risk or high risk, and are acquired through sexual contact with the infected partner. The first cause anogenital warts; high risk, however, lead to the development of cancer of the cervix, vulva, vagina and anus in women, and cancer of the anus and penis in men. 99% of uterine cancers are linked to genital HPV infection, which is the most common reproductive system.

Herpes Simplex Virus (VHS)

As explained by WHO, there are two types of herpes simplex virus: type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2). It is estimated that there are 3,700 million people under the age of 50 infected with HSV-1 and 417 million people between 15 and 49 years of age suffering from HSV-2.

The first is transmitted by mouth-to-mouth contact (sometimes from the infected mother to the baby during delivery) and causes cold sores (which can include symptoms such as fever or lip pupae), or genital herpes. HSV-1 infection, acquired mostly during childhood, is highly contagious, frequent and endemic throughout the world. Unfortunately, many people infected with HSV-1 do not know that they are, and that is that cold sore infection is usually asymptomatic.

Chlamydia

The Chlamydia is a very common disease in developed countries, caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis, which can affect both men and women. It usually does not cause symptoms, although in case of having them, men often have an urgent need to urinate and burn when doing so, secretions from the penis or pain in the testicles.

In women, the vaginal discharge becomes thick and yellowish, they usually suffer burning during urination, pain during sexual intercourse; they may also have secretions from the urethra or bleeding outside of menstruation.

Inguinal granuloma (donovanosis)

Extending mainly in India, Guyana and New Guinea, this infection is caused by the bacterium Klebsiella granulomatisand affects twice as many men as women. Unlike others, it very rarely spreads during oral sex.

As for the symptoms, they do not always take place immediately, since they can occur from 1 to 12 weeks after having been in contact with the bacteria. Half of the people who are infected have ulcers in the anal area. Also, red and small fleshy protuberances tend to appear in the genital or perianal areas, which become raised nodules known as granulation tissues.
